Ghana’s William Opoku extends his stay with Minerva Punjab FC!

The talented Ghanaian international midfielder William Opoku has extended his tenure with the I-League champions for the 2018/19 season.

An instrumental member of the title-winning 2017/18 squad, the 21-year-old midfielder William Opoku Asiedu rejoins the squad for the upcoming I-League campaign.

After being a part of all the 18 games in the last season, Opoku ended the season at a high by scoring the title-winning goal against Churchill Brothers, setting up two goals and netting five in total.

Opoku was delighted to re-join the Warriors for the 2018/19 season and said, “I would like to thank the club for giving me this opportunity. It feels great to be back here after a really good season last year. I’m really looking forward to joining the teammates and gear up for the next season.”

The I-League winner is excited to play in the AFC Champions League. “It’s going to be very tough. Playing in the AFC is a big task. We will do our best and try to go as further into it as much we can.”
