Al Duhail & Auckland City to kick off 2020 FIFA Club World Cup in Qatar!

The 2020 FIFA Club World Cup in Qatar will kick off with Al Duhail SC facing Oceania representatives Auckland City FC at the Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium on February 1.

Al Duhail confirmed their place as the host team after emerging the 2019-20 Qatar Stars League champions.

The winners will advance to the second round, for which a draw will be conducted with Tigres the latest to confirm their ticket after winning the 2020 CONCACAF Champions League title on Tuesday.

Ulsan Hyundai FC will be Asia’s other representative in the tournament after winning the 2020 AFC Champions League title on Saturday.

Other teams to have confirmed their places are Al Ahly (CAF Champions League winners) and FC Bayern Munich (UEFA Champions League winners).

The winners of the Copa Libertadores (determined in January 2021) will represent CONMEBOL.
