Mohammedan Sporting Club Under-16s will be playing their last match in the Kolkata Zonal Round of the ongoing U-16 Youth League when they host cross city rivals Mohun Bagan AC Under-16s on Saturday at the Mohammedan Sporting Ground at 2pm.
While Mohammedan Sporting eased past East Bengal 2-0 in their last game on Sunday, Mohun Bagan played out a drab draw against United SC.
On paper, Mohammedan Sporting are third in the table with 15 points, six points behind leaders Mohun Bagan (21 points) and two behind second placed United SC (17 points) and the game tomorrow is of big significance for Mohammedan Sporting as anything less than a win will serve as a big blow to their chances of qualifying for the final round.
However, Mohammedan Sporting filed an official complaint against United SC for fielding an ineligible player in Suraj Rajbanshi in their Round 1 match and if the decision goes in their favour then they will automatically qualify for the final round regardless of the outcome of the match against Mohun Bagan.
