A sunset showdown awaits in Chennai as the Blues come calling to face off the Marina Machans!

The Blues travel to the East Coast for their final game in the Indian Super League Season 12, as they take on Chennaiyin FC at the JLN Stadium in Chennai on Saturday, at 5 pm. Both teams have had a contrasting ISL season, with the hosts sitting in 13th place with nine points, just six points above relegation-threatened Mohammedan SC, while the visitors arrive on the back of a hard-fought 1-0 win against the Red Miners in Jamshedpur, handing them their first home defeat of the campaign.

The Marina Machans have not won a game since April 17, when they beat debutants SC Delhi 1-0 at home, courtesy of a Farukh Choudhary strike early in the tie, which is still their only win at home this season. The Clifford Miranda-coached side will look to make the most of their final game on Saturday, as the Blues come calling, looking to end their season on a winning note. Bengaluru have been unbeaten since April 11, after their defeat to Kerala Blasters at home, and are currently the best-performing team away from home in the League.

Bengaluru FC Head Coach, Pep Muñoz, who finally opened his account in the Indian Super League with a win over Jamshedpur FC last week, maintained that the team has prepared well ahead of the fixture on Saturday and will do their absolute best on the pitch in Chennai to come home with full points.

“A hundred percent. I am really proud of how the team is training and, more so, about how we’re playing. We’re working a lot on how to play with a certain structure, and I’m happy with how the players are using our ideas”, added Munoz at the Pre-Match Press Conference.

Sirojiddin Kuziev echoed the same sentiment, “Our last game against Jamshedpur FC was very good. We’ve been training very well in the last few days, and we want to finish our season on a good note against Chennaiyin FC on Saturday.”

Bengaluru FC have been handed a potential boost as Nikhil Poojary is set to feature in the matchday squad if everything goes well in the final training session before the game. Muñoz added, “Poojary was part of the training yesterday and completed the whole session. He will be available for the game tomorrow if everything goes well in training today.”
