AFC Beach Soccer coaching course gets underway in Japan!

An Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Beach Soccer Coaching Certificate Level 1 course got underway in Kanagawa, Japan on Tuesday.

In total, 16 coaches are attending the course which those involved are viewing as a vital step in the right direction for the growth and improvement of beach soccer in Japan.

In attendance at the course opening were Tsuyoshi Kitazawa, Head of the Japan Football Association (JFA) Futsal Committee, Yasuhisa Okuda, Director of the JFA Futsal & Beach Soccer Department, Shuzo Nakamura, Assistant Manager of the JFA Futsal & Beach Soccer Department, AFC Beach Soccer Elite Instructor Ling Luhui and AFC Beach Soccer Assistant Instructor Moreira Ozu.

Commenting on the course, Yasuhisa Okuda said: “At the recent FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup in the Bahamas, Japan were knocked out at the Group Stage, so we have to think about improving in the future. Today is a good time to start. This will be the first AFC Beach Soccer Coaching Certificate Course Level 1 in Japan. Everyone here will be key to further developing Beach Soccer in Japan.”

AFC Beach Soccer Elite Instructor Ling Luhui added that four central pillars will be focused on throughout the event, with those attending set to create new coaching materials, discuss how best to develop beach soccer, share their knowledge and collaborate closely to ensure the success of the course which is set to close on May 21.
