The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) expresses its deepest condolences on the sad demise of its former Technical Director S. Subramaniam of Malaysia on August 31, 2021.
Subramaniam was a well known technical expert and served in several important positions, including the Kuala Lumpur Football Association and FIFA. He was the AFC Technical Director between 1989 and 2000.
The Malaysian, who was a physical education teacher in his early days, was also a member of the FIFA and AFC Technical Study Groups in the FIFA World Cup, AFC Asian Cup as well as FIFA and AFC youth competitions.
Subramaniam received the AFC Gold Service award in 2011 for his many contributions to the game.
The thoughts and prayers of the AFC and the rest of the Asian football community are with the loved ones and friends of Subramaniam, the Football Association of Malaysia and the Malaysian football family during this difficult time.
