The AFC Futsal Train the Trainers Coaching Instructors Selection Course 2023 commenced today in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, further underlining the Asian Football Confederation (AFC)’s committed efforts towards raising the futsal standards of its Member Associations (MAs).
With the objective of training and identifying future instructors for elite, zonal and local levels, the program will see 19 participants from as many MAs assemble over the next five days to learn the latest trends and best practices in futsal from some of the most Renowned Instructors on the Continent.
The knowledge sharing exercise will comprise both theoretical and practical lessons, during the course of which, the participating trainers will be brought up to speed with the Confederation’s latest Futsal courses, while also being apprised of the duties and responsibilities that one is expected to execute as a Futsal Instructor under the Confederation.
Some of the key activities of the theoretical sessions of the workshop include conducting in-depth discussions on ways to enhance training sessions, reviewing past matches, and gaining a better understanding of the game in order to maximize the potential of players across the Continent.
The course will also witness an exchange of ideas through presentations that will be shared by the attendees, whereas the practical sessions of the course will primarily deal with group tasks such as managing crises and devising defensive strategies.
“The popularity of futsal in Asia has been rapidly gaining momentum and with these courses under the guidance of the AFC, we are becoming more and more well-versed with the latest developments of the game. I am sure that the next few days will be an enriching experience which will enable us to do our best in helping Asian teams shine on the global stage,” said Japan’s Baba Motonori.
