The first ever AIFF ‘E’ Certificate Course for Hearing Impaired Coaches concluded on Thursday, March 30, 2023, in Navi Mumbai.
The course consisted of 21 participants, all of whom are active football coaches associated with Indian NGO Slum Soccer. Reliance Foundation Young Champs hosted the course at their training facilities and also provided additional financial support to deliver the four-day programme.
The course was delivered by AIFF Senior Manager, Grassroots and Lead Coach Educator, Shailesh Karkera, under the assistance of two specialist Indian sign language interpreters from Slum Soccer.
The AIFF also provided additional support in the form of equipment and 20 footballs for smooth conduction of the course.
The AIFF ‘E’ Certificate is a grassroots level coaching course offered by the AIFF under its Coach Education programme and is open to anyone interested in coaching. Participants undergo practical and theory classes, which focus on training children between the ages of 6 to 12, which is classified as “Children’s Football” as per FIFA.
