AIFF Elite Academy Qualify for the U-18 I-League semifinals!

Having amassed six points from the three matches in Group C, AIFF Elite Academy boys qualify for the semifinals of the U-18 I-League. The AIFF Elite Academy boys opened their campaign with a terrific 4-1 victory over Minerva Punjab FC before sealing their semifinal spot with a 2-1 win against DSK Shivajians FC. Today they went down 0-1 to Bengaluru FC in their last round-robin group match against Bengaluru FC, who finish their campaign with four points from three matches.

Sourav T.P. scored the only goal of the match for Bengaluru FC in the 52nd minute, which eventually made the difference between the two teams.

The AIFF Elite Academy boys got their first chance in the 16th minute when Ragav made a cutting-edge pass to Minga but he couldn’t connect properly to make the best out of it. Biswa, Moya, Ragav were coordinating well but the final touch was missing amongst them.

After the changeover, Sourav T.P. netted the only goal of the match in the 52nd minute which finally helped them bag all three points from the match, taking their tally to four points from the group stage.

After 70 minutes, Floyd Pinto introduced Zama and Joseph, having withdrawn Minga and Ragav. With 10 minutes left on the clock, he introduced Zonunmawia too but the equaliser eluded them until the final whistle.

East Bengal Club, with seven points in their kitty, qualified from Group B as the group champions for the semifinals.
