Ambernath United Atlanta FC are all set to host ARA FC at the Cooperage Stadium in Mumbai on Saturday, March 25. This match is touted as top of the table clash in Group D after ARA managed to win both their matches while Ambernath United Atlanta FC earned a comeback win in their opening match of the Second Division League.
Ambernath United Atlanta FC made an astounding debut to their campaign as they had to bounce back from a goal down against Hyderabad FC Reserves this past Sunday. Having trailed a goal down at the break they had everything to do in the second half to turn the game around. Goals from Arif Shaikh and super-sub Abhijit Tawhare saw Ambernath United Atlanta FC seal all three points, their first win in Second Division League and on debut.
Saturday presents a different challenge for Ambernath United Atlanta FC who now clash with top of Group D side ARA FC. ARA FC have made an incredible start to their campaign with back-to back win in their opening two matches. A 2-1 win over Hyderabad FC Reserves and a thumping 3-0 win over FC Goa Reserves. Based on head-to-head, both sides clash for the first time in history.
This was what the head coach of Ambernath United Atlanta FC, Steven Dias had to say on their upcoming match against ARA FC, “I’m feeling confident and the boys are well prepared. It is going to be a good match against a very good ARA FC team. They won both their matches so far, so I’m sure they will be high on confidence. But we are prepared and waiting for an exciting game tomorrow. I was surprised to see the amount of fans that turned up for our last match and that was one of the reason that the team performed so well last match coming from a goal down to win. We are expecting the same amount of fans tomorrow as they play an integral part in motivating us to strive for the best. We will give our best and entertain our fans by playing good football and try to make it two wins in a row.”
All eyes are on Group D going into Matchday 3 this weekend as both ARA and Ambernath United Atlanta FC meet in the top of the table clash. A win for ARA could make it three wins out of three and 9/9 points. A win for Ambernath United Atlanta FC could see them go level on points with ARA FC (6 points each). Meanwhile the other three teams will be hoping that this clash ends in a stalemate and the points are shared. Dempo SC on the other hand who also won their opening game will lock horns against Hyderabad FC Reserves who are looking to bounce back from two defeats. Hyderabad FC Reserves would be looking to open their account in Group D.
Ambernath United Atlanta FC will be on the road after this home match against ARA FC as they head to Goa for two away matches against FC Goa Reserves and Dempo SC.
