Amrinder Singh leaves Mumbai City FC to join ATK Mohun Bagan!

India international goalkeeper Amrinder Singh has put pen to paper on a five year contract with three-time Indian Super League champions ATK Mohun Bagan.

28 year old Mahilpur-born Amrinder Singh started to play football late in his youth at the Sports Wing Academy in Paldi, Hoshiarpur before representing Punjab at youth level.

After a successful trial with Pune FC, he joined their academy before making it to their first team. While at Pune FC, he spend time on loan with Atletico de Kolkata and Bengaluru FC, where he went on to win the I-League title.

After a loan spell at Mumbai City, Amrinder established himself as their regular keeper. Amrinder Singh leaves Mumbai City FC after five season after having captained the Islanders to the 2020/21 ISL Shield trophy and league title.

Amrinder Singh in a statement said, “Even though I played in Kolkata before, it was for a very short time. This is going to be a new chapter in my football career. Winning all the trophies for Mumbai last year was a memorable event in my life. I want the same success in the green and maroon jersey next season.”

“There are three reasons behind coming to Kolkata. They are: the support of a huge number of ATK Mohun Bagan supporters, the football philosophy of coach Habas and the principal owner of the team Sanjiv Goenka and the glorious history of football of this city.”

What makes this free transfer interesting is that ATK Mohun Bagan already have a top class goalkeeper in Arindam Bhattacharya, who will now fight with Amrinder Singh for the spot in goal.
