The Supervisory Board of DSC Arminia Bielefeld GmbH & Co. KGaA agreed on Monday, March 6 with Sports Managing Director Samir Arabi on the immediate termination of the cooperation. Samir Arabi had proposed the separation to clear the way for a new beginning.
“I have always been passionate about working for Arminia and have experienced many special moments during this time. In the current critical sporting situation, I would like to make a personal contribution with my withdrawal, so that a new impulse can be set at a central point in the club. I am grateful for many years of trusting cooperation and keep my fingers crossed for Arminia that things will quickly pick up again,” explained Samir Arabi.
“We are all aware of Samir Arabi’s outstanding services to Arminia Bielefeld since he began his tenure in 2011. For this and for his great personal commitment, he deserves our thanks and recognition. His work ultimately led us back to the Bundesliga in the summer of 2020. In the analysis of our current situation, we once again exchanged views openly and in a spirit of trust. At the end of our talks, we mutually agreed to part ways,” explains Hartmut Ostrowski, Chairman of the Supervisory Board. “We want to fill the position of the main person responsible for sport at the DSC and will hold appropriate discussions. In the short term, it is only about class preservation. All forces must be bundled to secure the Bundesliga 2 for Arminia Bielefeld.”
From his first day in March 2011, Samir Arabi has contributed with great passion in his twelve years, has experienced many ups and downs and lived the DSC Arminia Bielefeld with a lot of energy.
