Three-time former ISL champions ATK Mohun Bagan have announced that they have extended the contract of their Spanish head coach Antonio López Habas for the 2021/22 season.
Antonio López Habas has been successful with ATK Mohun Bagan (formerly ATK), catapulting them to victory in the inaugural season of ISL in 2014 and taking the team to the semifinals in 2015 and winning the 2019/20 season.
The 63-year old Spanish coach used to play as a defender in LaLiga for clubs such as FC Sevilla, Real Murcia and Burgos CF. He has had an extensive coaching career where he coached the Bolivian national team and appeared with them at four Copa América tournaments. Habas was also hired by Valencia CF as their Head Coach in LaLiga before heading to South Africa and then India.
The Spanish head coach from Madrid said: “I am happy that the officials have kept faith in me and in our technical staff. It will inspire us all a lot before the AFC Cup. It will boost our morale. Our goal now is to bring success to the club at the international level.”
He also informed the goal of ATK Mohun Bagan for the next season. “We are committed to upholding the trust of members, supporters and officials,” he said.
