ATK Mohun Bagan & midfielder Edu Garcia part ways!

Former Indian Super League champions ATK Mohun Bagan have announced that their Spanish playmaker Edu Garcia is leaving the club this summer despite having a contract running until summer 2022.

10 year old Zaragoza-born Eduardo “Edu” García Martín played for Helios, Amistad and Real Zaragoza at youth level. Edu spend three years with Real Zaragoza ‘B’ before playing for CD Ebro (twice), SD Ejea and the Real Zarazoga first team.

In 2017, Edu Garcia moved to India to join then Indian Super League newcomers Bengaluru FC. He had a massive impact with BFC before moving for a then record USD 150,000 transfer fee to Chinese League Division One side Zhejiang Greentown FC.

But then in January 2019, Edu Garcia returned to India to sign for ATK and he made immediate impact as he was a key player in their ISL-6 winning run scoring nine goals in 22 matches.

Last season, Edu Garcia was hampered by injuries and now the club and him decide to part ways.
