Bayer Leverkusen extends keeper Niklas Lomb until 2027!

Niklas Lomb has signed a new three-year contract at Bayer 04 Leverkusen, with his current deal set to expire at the end of the current season. The goalkeeper first joined the Werkself as a 15-year-old in 2008 and will now stay at the BayArena until June 30, 2027. Lomb has spent three seasons away on loan at 3.Liga sides Preußen Münster and Hallescher FC, as well as Sandhausen in Bundesliga 2.

“Niklas has always been a reliable team player in our squad over the past few years,” stated Simon Rolfes, managing director for sport at Bayer 04. “As a guarantor of a high level of training, he was and is an important component of our ambitious team even without much playing time. Niklas should and will continue to fulfil this ambition in the future.”

For Lomb, this contract extension is “yet another wonderful vote of confidence from Bayer 04. For someone like me who came here as a teenager, such a long-term deal as a 30-year-old is something very special,” said the goalkeeper. “Now I’ll fight with all my might to achieve the club’s current and future goals together with our team and the entire club.”
