FC Bayern Munich’s pre-season preparations this summer will again include a training camp at Tegernsee, just outside Munich, from July 15 to 20. After that, the German record champions will travel to Asia from July 24 to August 3 for their eighth Audi Summer Tour.
Oliver Kahn, FC Bayern CEO, said, “FC Bayern is always conscious of its roots in Bavaria and Munich, and it’s part of the club’s tradition that we repeatedly prepare for the new season at Tegernsee. At the same time, we want to regularly offer our fans around the world the opportunity to see our players live. We’re looking forward to this year’s Audi Summer Tour in Asia.”
Andreas Jung, FC Bayern board member for marketing, said, “FC Bayern has a huge fan community in Asia, which is constantly growing. We want to drive forward the great enthusiasm for our sport in the region and excite the people there with our team.”
Under the motto ‘A way to inspire’, the first stop on this year’s Summer Tour will be Tokyo. Two Audi Football Summits will be held at the National Stadium in the Japanese capital on July 26 and 29. The opponents on July 29 will be Kawasaki Frontale, with the opponents for the opening game still to be announced, as is the second destination of the tour with a third match. It will be FC Bayern Munich’s first visit to Japan with the first team since 2008.
The games in Tokyo are being organised jointly with SPTV, the Bundesliga’s Japanese media partner, and the DFL Deutsche Fußball Liga (German Football League). Last year FC Bayern took its Summer Tour to the USA. The last trip to Asia was in 2017, when China and Singapore were the destinations.
