Bengaluru FC continue winning run in KSFA Women’s A Division League!

Bengaluru FC’s women’s team notched back-to-back wins in the KSFA Women’s A Division League, with a 3-0 win against United FC Kodagu at the Bangalore Football Stadium on Sunday. Goals from Sila Adarsh (4′), Tanvi Nair (64′) and Ruthu Sreenandan (66′) helped the girls romp to a comprehensive result in a dominating display.

Earlier, Bengaluru FC coach Kishore Chavan made two changes to the starting eleven from last Sunday’s game against Pass FC, as Shivani Savanth replaced Karnika between the sticks and Prakalya replaced Ruthu in the midfield.

Bengaluru FC made a great start to the game by scoring in the fourth minute, when a shot from nearly 25 yards out by Sila, was fumbled by Kodagu ‘keeper Pallavi Chougule before being helped into the net by defender Diona D’Souza. Chavan’s side continued to dominate proceedings and came close on plenty of occasions in the first half to double their lead.

Into the second period, the story was the same, as Chavan brought on Rinsha Mariyam and Ruthu Sreenandan to sustain the attack. Bengaluru FC eventually got a chance at the hour mark, when Tanvi was brought down in the box by Amshitha Rai leading the referee to point to the spot. The forward’s eventual spot kick, though, was hit straight at Chougule, who had no trouble in saving the effort.

But Tanvi wasn’t to be denied as she doubled the visitors’ lead in the 64th minute, after picking up a pass from Rinsha on the left and scoring with a delightful curling effort. Just a few minutes later, Ruthu added a third, beating her marker and scoring off her left foot following a cross from Chinmayi Tili to secure all three points in Bengaluru FC’s favour.

The Bengaluru FC women’s team will face GRK Girls FC in their next game on Sunday, June 4.
