Bengaluru FC U-15s put six past United RRnagar FC!

Bengaluru FC U-15s, powered by a hattrick from winger Lalpekhlua, picked up their third win of the KSFA ‘C’ Division League, with a 6-0 defeat of United RRnagar FC at the Bangalore Football Stadium on Wednesday. Lalpekhlua’s strikes (5′,35′,38′) were added to by Oinam Ronex Meitei (51′) and Muhammed Zahan (55′,60′), handing Rajan Mani’s side maximum points so far.

Having started brightly, Bengaluru FC put pressure on the United RRnagar backline from the get-go. Lalpekhlua, who scored twice in the Young Blues’ opening encounter against Francis Xaviers FC, found the back of the net in the fifth minute. Picking up the ball at the edge of the box, the striker skipped past two defenders, placing a low shot past the reach of Akash Sharma in the United goal.

Bengaluru FC goalkeeper Narengbam Rohen Singh was called into action for the first time when he parried Bharath PR’s shot from close range to deny URFC an equalizer only five minutes later. The game ambled to a close, with Bengaluru FC choosing to keep their lead intact, recycling possession for most parts until the break.

Into the second half, Bengaluru FC put the pedal to the metal as Lalpekhlua continued to be a threat. The 15-year-old picked up his second, nodding past Akash from Basudev CM’s inswinging corner. Only three minutes later, Lalpekhlua completed his hattrick, capitalizing on a defensive error to make his way into the box and loop it over Akash to make it 3-0.

The Bengaluru FC U-15s would score three more goals in the space of 10 minutes, as Oinam got in on the action. Intercepting a pass outside the 18-yard-box, the defender’s low drive from distance found its way past a hapless Akash and into the bottom corner.

Rajan Mani looked to his bench, bringing on Zahan for Bankit Lyngkor late into the second half. The forward grabbed his opportunity only moments later, scoring a quick-fire brace in the last five minutes of the game.

The Young Blues play their penultimate Group E encounter of the KSFA ‘C’ Division League against Subodhaya FC at the same venue on April 9.
