Bengaluru FC win 2-0 against Bangalore Independents!

Jan van Loon’s Bengaluru FC rode on a brace from striker Monirul Milla to claim a 2-0 win against Bangalore Independents FC, in the BDFA Super Division League, at the BFS, on Monday. Molla’s strikes, both of which came in the first half, put the Blue Colts in fourth place, with 23 points from 10 games.

Bengaluru FC started on the attack but the first clear chance of the game fell to Bangalore Independents when a fine cross from Sathish Kumar found Rajaganapathy K, but the striker failed to capitalize from close range.

Bengaluru FC grew wary of the Independents attack and pushed for the opener, and found one in the 14th minute when a well-worked set piece from Amay Morajkar was looped into the box for Molla, who nodded it beyond Minkael Sylla in the Independents goal.

Bengaluru FC continued to push forward and Molla bagged his brace just past the hour mark, linking up well with Bekey, before taking a touch and smashing it with his left foot into the roof of the net past a hapless Sylla.

The Blue Colts came back out for the second period with a two-goal cushion and could have had a third when Molla came close to bagging his hat-trick. A neat pass from Amay played the striker into space, but Molla’s eventual shot was parried away by the Independents ’keeper.

Van Loon’s side continued to put pressure on the Independents backline, but chose to see out the game with the two-goal advantage. Bengaluru FC next face Friends United at the same venue on November 4.
