Borussia Dortmund have reached an agreement with Bundesliga rivals 1.FC Köln to sign their experienced striker Anthony Modeste.
Borussia Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl on Anthony Modeste said, “We’ve reached a verbal agreement in principle with 1.FC Köln for the transfer of forward Anthony Modeste to BVB. But the medical is still pending, as is the clarification of the contractual details. As it stands, we therefore cannot announce the completion of the deal.”
34 year old Cannes-born Anthony Mbu Agogo Modeste played for EFC Frejus and OGC Nice in his youth.
It was at Ligue 1 side OGC Nice that Anthony Modeste made his senior professional debut. Thereafter he went on to play for Angers SCO (loan), Girondins de Bordeaux, Blackburn Rovers (loan), SC Bastia (loan), TSG 1899 Hoffenheim, 1.FC Köln and Tianjin Quanjian in China.
Anthony Modeste returned to 1.FC Köln for a second stint in 2018 and was send from February to May 2021 on loan to AS Saint-Étienne. Last season then Anthony Modeste had an impressive campaign with 20 goals in 32 Bundesliga matches.
Now Anthony Modeste could make a big move to Borussia Dortmund depending on clearing his medical.
