Calcutta Football League champions East Bengal Club continued their winning CFL campaign with a 3-0 victory over Southern Samity at the East Bengal ground on Wednesday afternoon.
The red and gold had the perfect start with Mizo winger Laldanmawia Ralte giving them a seventh lead, but it remained the only goal of the half with misses at both ends.
Young wing-back Samad Ali Mallick doubled East Bengal’s lead in the 57th minute before man of the match Syrian Mahmoud Al Amna made it 3-0 in the 74th minute of a rebound of a Willis Plaza attempt which had hit the goalpost.
With their fourth win in a row, East Bengal moved back to the top of the CFL table with now 12 points from four matches.
