Two second half goals earned Chawnpui FC victory in round 6, as they defeated Electric Veng FC in an entertaining affair at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium.
Electric Veng took the lead in the first half with a brilliant strike from Zothanpuia in the 36th minute. Chawnpui came close to an equaliser in the first half, striking the crossbar from a header by Hriata and MC Malsawmzuala forcing a save from the Electric Veng goalkeeper.
They carried their energy into the second half and earned their reward with two goals in the space of four minutes. MC Malsawmzuala did extremely well to set up Lallawmsanga for their first strike and Laltlanzova netted the winning goal in the 73rd minute after he was the quickest to react to a rebound from Hriatzuala’s shot.
