Chennaiyin FC coach Pasha hints at giving chances to youngsters in remaining two ISL games!

Chennaiyin FC head coach Syed Sabir Pasha indicated that with the pressure of for the play-off race off their shoulders, the two-time champions tear out some of younger players alongside experienced campaigners in their remaining two matches.

Chennayin FC will round off their ISL season with matches against Kerala Blasters in the southern derby at the Tilak Maidan in Vasco on Saturday, followed by the game against ATK Mohun Bagan on March 3.

Talking to the media during a virtual pre-match press conference, the former India international Pasha said as professionals there is enough motivation for the players to produce their best.

“It is all about motivating the players because it is end of the season and everybody is in a different mood. We are out of the race and all these things are there in the players’ minds. But they should know that they are professionals and there is no match which is simple, every match is important and they have to prove themselves and that is the point which we are putting on to the players,” Pasha said.

“We can’t put the team in a big risk by getting in all the young players. There will be young players but we will be having a mix of youth and experience,” he added.

Under Pasha’s management, Chennaiyin FC played two matches, a draw against Odisha FC before losing to Jamshedpur FC in their last game. However, the 49-year-old urged his players to look at the positives.

“Every game we play, we play to win, that is what football is all about. The fans want us to win so no game we approached just to collect a point. We will approach the game the same way and try to get three points,” the head coach concluded.

The Marina Machans will also look to end the season on a positive note with wins over Kerala Blasters and ATK Mohun Bagan in their final match.
