Chhinga Veng FC remain the only unbeaten team in MPL9 as they earned a narrow 1-0 win over Chawnpui FC.
Coached by their former MPL winning coach Lalsangzuala Hmar, Chawnpui FC were able to create chances especially after going behind. Substitutes Lalsawmzela and Lalliansanga came close to finding an equalizer for their sides.
But Chhinga Veng FC were able to hold on to their first half lead, which came in a fortuitous manner when defender Ephraim Vanlalduhsaka inadvertently put the ball in the back of his own net after an attack from Chhinga Veng.
Chhinga Veng also had their goalkeeper RS Lawmzuala to thank as he made a couple of good stops late on to give his side the victory.
