Coach Unai Emery to leave Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the season!

After two seasons with French Ligue 1 side FC Paris Saint-Germain, Spanish coach Unai Emery will leave the club at the end of the 2017/18 season.

Joining from Sevilla FC in 2016, Unai Emery led Paris Saint-Germain to six new trophies (1 French Ligue 1 championship, 1 Coupe de France, 2 Coupes de la Ligue and 2 Trophées des Champions), with the possibility of bringing a 12th Coupe de France triumph on May 8.

Under his direction, Paris Saint-Germain has maintained its place as the most competitive football club in France, setting several new records on the national scene but they failed miserably at the international stage going out to Spanish giants FC Barcelona and Real Madrid over the last couple of UEFA Champions League campaigns.

“Throughout his two seasons at the head of our first team, Unai Emery was a model of commitment and ambition,” declared Paris Saint-Germain Chairman and CEO Nasser Al-Khelaïfi. “His immense passion for football and his exceptional work ethic saw the club cement its place amongst the football elite, both in France and internationally. I congratulate Unai for his achievements with our project and, on behalf of the club, wish him every success for his future challenges.”

Paris Saint-Germain have so far not named the new coach for the new season with a number of big name coaches being considered to be heading to the Parc de Prince.
