CTFA underlines commitment to strengthen futsal development!

The Chinese Taipei Football Association (CTFA) successfully conducted a six-day AFC Futsal Level 1 Coaching Certificate Course at the Taichung City Dongshi Stadium in May 2022, which marked the latest initiative to further develop the sport.

The course was presented by main instructor Yung-Sheng Chen and assistant instructor Hsiang-Hsing Liu, both of whom introduced the sport’s structure and the basic futsal coaching technics as well as the role of futsal in developing players’ skills and abilities.

Combining theory and practical sessions, group discussions, role-play exercises as well as participants’ feedback on aspects related to futsal development, the aspiring coaches benefited from the opportunity to apply themselves through the hands-on approach.

Both instructors took the opportunity to present the current state of futsal development in Chinese Taipei to give participants a better understanding and a broader perspective of how futsal can progress and further develop.

With a view to strengthen the foundation for the sustainable growth of futsal, the CTFA launched the inaugural Futsal League last year.

Their commitment to grow the sport was further underlined with the inclusion of the U20 national futsal team in the CTFA Futsal League to allow the youth players to gain valuable match experience.

Under the administration of CTFA’s President I-Jen Chiou, futsal has enjoyed tremendous growth and progress.

CTFA General Secretary Ching-Jen Fang further stressed the importance of coaches’ development in the sport: “We would like to thank the Asian Football Confederation, the Sports Bureau of the Taichung City Government, the instructors and all the participants for making this course a huge success.

“CTFA is committed and determined to introduce more players and coaches to this beautiful sport and ensure the continued growth of futsal at all levels as we aspire to nurture the growth of the next generation of futsal players.”

The Chinese Taipei futsal team will be represented at the 2022 AFC Futsal Asian Cup – Kuwait from September 27 to October 8.
