Second Division League side Delhi FC were up against Indian Super League side Kerala Blasters at the Kalyani Municipality Stadium on Tuesday afternoon.
With the game deadlocked at half-time that would have meant that the Blasters would make the knockout stage.
It was Trinidadian Willis Deon Plaza who gave Delhi FC the lead in the 53rd minute, and that meant the team from the capital only needed to hang on to their lead to qualify and they did.
Willis Plaza is now the top scorer of the tournament with four goals to his name.
While Delhi FC go through to the quarterfinals as runners-up from Group C, the Kerala Blasters are out of the competition.
Defender Anwar Ali of Delhi FC was adjudged to be the Man of the Match.
