After years of trying, finally FC Bengaluru United have gained promotion from the I-League 2 to the Indian Football League (formerly I-League).
FC Bengaluru United were held to a 1-1 draw by GMSC for FCBU finishing second in the I-League 2 on 15 points from eigh matches.
FC Bengaluru United owner Gaurav Manchanda said, “Today’s achievement is an incredibly proud and exciting moment for everyone associated with FC Bengaluru United. It is the result of years of hard work, belief and resilience. There were moments of heartbreak, near misses and setbacks along the way, but the club stayed committed to the vision of building something meaningful and sustainable for Bengaluru football.”
“This moment belongs to our players, coaches, staff, fans, academy families and the entire city that stood behind us through the journey. To see the passion, energy and belief around the club today is truly special. We’re proud of how far we’ve come, but even more excited about what lies ahead for FC Bengaluru United and the future of football in this city.”
Meanwhile FC Bengaluru United co-owner Debjit Datta Chaudhuri added, “This is a very special moment for everyone at FC Bengaluru United. The journey has taken years of hard work, persistence and belief, and it’s incredibly exciting to see the club reach this stage.”
