Delhi Football season kicks-off with transfers & institutional leagues!

Delhi Soccer AssociationIn the first annual football activity of the 2016/17 Delhi football season, a record number of 400 players took transfers to various clubs affiliated to the Delhi Soccer Association and playing across the Senior, A and B Divisions.

The most benefitted clubs which sought transfers were Garhwal Heroes FC, Youngmen SC, Shimla Youngs FC, Punjab Heroes, Delhi Dynamos, Youngsters SC, Colligians, Young Boys, Royal Rangers FC, B.B. Stars, Delhi FC, National United FC, Garhwal Diamond, Delhi Students, Victory FC, Goans SC, Uttrakhand, and others across the seven-day transfer period held at the Dr. Ambedkar Stadium from June 24 to 30.

After completion of the AIFF Inter-State transfers by August, many other Delhi-based reputed clubs like Hindustan FC, Indian National FC, Delhi United FC, City FC, Moonlight – Sudeva, Ahbab Club, Royal Rangers FC, Goodwill FC, Mughals SC, they may rope in outstation players from across India and also recruit a number of foreign players.

Meanwhile, Twenty top institutional teams affiliated with the DSA will take part in the DSA Annual Institutional Football League Championship 2016/17 beginning from July 14 at the Dr. Ambedkar Stadium. The championship will be held in two divisions viz. Senior and A Division respectively.

Prominent teams participating in the Senior Division will be Northern Railway, Central Excise & Customs, Food Corporation of India (Head Qrs), Reserve Bank of India, Employees State Insurance Corporation, Delhi Transport Corporation, Central Civil Services, Airport Authority of India, Zakir Hussain College, Delhi Audit; while the A Division would see Oriental Bank, Govt. of NCT Delhi, Air India, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd., IGPCL, Bank of India, Delhi Development Authority, Urban Development Ministry, Food Corporation of India (North Zone), All India Institute of Medical Sciences and other sides in action.

The participating teams can register four players recruited on a Stipend/Scholarship basis but can not field more than two such players in a match.
