Domenico Tedesco extends his Belgium contract until 2026!

He came, qualified for the Euros and extended his contract. Domenico Tedesco has extended his contract with Belgium’s RBFA until 2026. He will thus stay with the Red Devils until after the FIFA World Cup in Canada, Mexico and the United States.

Under the leading of national coach Domenico Tedesco and his staff, the Red Devils played a strong qualifying campaign for the Euros in Germany. The RBFA are very satisfied with the cooperation and would like to continue it in the coming years. The RBFA are therefore delighted to announce that Domenico and his staff have extended their contract until July 2026. The collaboration will thus continue until the end of the FIFA World Cup in Canada, Mexico and the United States.

Piet Vandendriessche, CEO RBFA, said, “We did not hesitate for a moment about Domenico Tedesco’s contact extension. With a rejuvenated squad, he achieved a fantastic qualifying campaign for the European Championship. We are therefore happy to extend the partnership for two years, and look positively to the future.”

Domenico Tedesco, Belgian Red Devils head coach, said, “For me it is a privilege and an honor to be the national coach of Belgium. All of us on the coaching team really enjoy the task. Working with the team, but also with all employees in the federation. I identify 100 percent with the Red Devils. That’s why I’m very pleased that we’re continuing on the path we’ve chosen together.”

Domenico Tedesco began his era with the Red Devils in February 2023. After the FIFA World Cup in Qatar, he took over from Roberto Martínez, who spent six years at the helm of the men’s national team. Tedesco started strongly in March with victories in Sweden (0-3) and Germany (2-3).

Besides Sweden, Austria, Estonia and Azerbaijan were the opponents on the path to the European Championship. With a handsome victory against Austria in a full Ernst Happel Stadium, the Red Devils secured participation at EURO 2024. The RBFA can immediately speak of a successful debut year for the Italian-German.

Thanks to the contract extension, the Belgian national coach will continue to lead his rejuvenated team after the Euros. The RBFA look forward to the next major tournaments (the UEFA Nations League, the Euros and the FIFA World Cup), which the RBFA will experience with Domenico and his staff.
