Kolkata giants East Bengal Club with their new investors Emami Group have announced the signing of five foreign recruits.
Amongst the recruits are ISL experienced defender Ivan Gonzalez, midfielder Alex Lima and Brazilian striker Cleiton Silva besides Cyprus defender Charalambos Kyriakou and Brazilian forward Eliandro.
32-year-old Spanish defender Ivan Gonzalez has the experience of playing for FC Goa, while being a youth product of Real Madrid. He has been influential with the Gaurs having won the 2021 Durand Cup.
32-year-old Cypriot versatile defender Charalambos Kyriakou brings years of experience in Cypriot league and also the national team with him.
33-year-old Brazilian midfielder Alexandre Monteiro de Lima won the ISL League Shield last season with Jamshedpur FC and spend two seasons with the Red Miners.
35 year old Brazilian striker Cleiton Silva spend the last two campaigns with Bengaluru FC and was highly successful in the Thai League before that.
32-year-old Brazilian forward Eliandro moves to India from Thailand having also played in Lithuania and Malta.
With these foreigners, East Bengal Club will hope for better results and performances in the upcoming 2022/23 season under new head coach Stephen Constantine.
