Eintracht Frankfurt extends Makoto Hasebe contract!

Former Japan captain Makoto Hasebe has agreed to extend his contract at Eintracht Frankfurt to 2021, and will remain part of the club as a brand ambassador after hanging up his boots.

The Japanese veteran, whose deal was due to expire in the summer, penned a one-year extension with the Eagles and plans to continue working for the club after retiring as a player.

“Makoto has had an extraordinary career,” said Eintracht board member Fredi Bobic. “The fact that he is still an important pillar of our team at the age of 36 is thanks to his incredible discipline and highly professional attitude. We’re happy to have him in our team next season, and that he’ll remain part of the club as a brand ambassador beyond that.”
