Eintracht Frankfurt have recruited Brazil youth international goalkeeper Kauã Santos from CR Flamengo on a contract valid until 2028.
Kauã Santos was born in Vassouras, close to Rio de Janeiro, in 2003 and was brought through the famed academy of iconic Brazilian club CR Flamengo.
Santos was the first-choice goalkeeper for Flamengo’s U-20 team, who finished top of the domestic youth league table this year, and kept four clean sheets in eight games. In the subsequent final round, the 20-year-old made a significant contribution to his team reaching the final. In total, Santos made 22 appearances for Flamengo’s oldest youth team, keeping nine clean sheets.
The goalkeeper was also part of Brazil’s squad that went unbeaten en route to winning the South American U20 Championship at the start of this year.
Eintracht sporting director Timmo Hardung said, “We’re pleased that we’ve been able to sign such a talented goalkeeper in Kauã Santos. Our scouting and goalkeeping departments have been watching him for a long time and are in no doubt about his huge potential. He’ll get all the support he needs with us, as well as the opportunities to continue his personal development.”
