The defensive midfielder joins Eintracht from FC Bayern Munich, signing a contract until 30 June 2031.
Eintracht Frankfurt have reached an agreement with Bayern Munich for the permanent transfer of Noel Aseko. The midfielder has been given a five-year contract until 2031 in Frankfurt.
Born in Berlin, Aseko began his football career in the capital with Hertha BSC before moving to Munich in 2022. He made the step up to men’s football with regular appearances for Bayern’s U23 side, making his debut in the Regionalliga in 2022 at the age of 16 years and 10 months. In 2024, the record champions handed him a professional contract. In February 2025, Aseko joined Hannover 96 on loan, where he made 33 appearances in Bundesliga 2, one in the DFB Cup and 10 for the reserves in the third division over one and a half seasons. The 20-year-old was a key part of the Hannover team that finished fourth in the second tier in 2025/26, starting 30 out of 32 matches and contributing three goals along with six assists.
In his career to date, the 1.78-metre-tall Aseko has primarily established himself in defensive midfield, but has also played in a more advanced role or as a full-back. He won the second-most duels for his team last season, was third in terms of total distance covered, and posted the fourth-highest top speed.
He has represented Germany 23 times at youth level, including five games for the U21 team recently. He returned to Munich in the summer but from now on his sporting home is in the heart of Europe.
Board member for sport Markus Krösche said: “Noel Aseko was already part of the wider first-team circle at Bayern two years ago for good reasons. Since then, he’s proven at Hannover in a physically demanding league that he also has the physical attributes to take the next step. Moreover, he has a healthy attacking drive for his position as well as outstanding anticipation. We’re confident that, with our coaching team and in our environment, Noel can fully develop his strengths in the Bundesliga. First of all, though, he needs to quickly settle in and integrate well.”
