EURO 2024 club benefits programme approved!

The UEFA Executive Committee yesterday, April 7 approved the allocation and distribution criteria of the UEFA EURO 2024 club benefits programme which – every four years – is based on an amount generated by the UEFA EURO final tournament and paid out to clubs who have contributed to the successful staging of all UEFA’s national team competitions by releasing players to those matches.

The available amount for the 2020/24 cycle is €240m, as stipulated in the Memorandum of Understanding signed by UEFA and ECA in February 2019.

The programme will cover matches of the UEFA Nations League, the European Qualifiers as well as the UEFA EURO 2024 final tournament and the distribution system will remain largely unchanged in comparison to UEFA EURO 2020.

€100m will reward the release of players to the UEFA Nations League 2020/21 and 2022/23, as well as the European Qualifiers to EURO 2024. This represents an increase of €30m from EURO 2020 and will ensure more solidarity to a very large number of European clubs.

The amount secured for the release of players to the EURO 2024 final tournament will also be increased from €130m to €140m.

Following UEFA EURO 2020, €200 million were paid to 697 clubs from all 55 member associations.
