Here, a group of young girls defied societal norms and formed the village’s first-ever women’s football team for the first season of the Extramarks and Arsenal Youth Football Championship. By breaking barriers, this young team have made a lasting legacy.
The Youth Football Championship is an inter-school five-a-side football tournament for girls and boys under 15, created with our official learning partner, Extramarks, in September 2022. The project scales across the entirety of India, giving youngsters the chance to participate in football and have the opportunity to reach the final, which will take place at Emirates Stadium in May 2023.
Arsenal FC continue to work with communities like Extramarks to ensure that football is an inclusive space for all.
