FC Bardez practiceNewcomers FC Bardez will take on Churchill Brothers SC in the Goa Pro League at the Duler Stadium in Mapusa tomorrow afternoon.

Both sides come into the game on the back of defeats. FC Bardez were beaten 2-0 by Salgaocar FC while Churchill Brothers were thrashed 4-0 by Sporting Clube de Goa. The teams will be looking to get their respective campaigns off the ground in the upcoming clash.

The Bardezkars missed experienced Peter Carvalho and Mathew Gonsalves through injury in the last game but the duo will return for Sunday’s game. However, there are still some injuries in the squad as strikers Latesh Mandrekar and Kritikesh Gadekar are still not available. Young Bilal Khan will also deputize or Mirshad K between the posts.

Churchill Brothers defender Biju Kumar and striker Pankaj Sona will be key to the Red Machines success in the match.

FC Bardez striker Myron Mendes said about the upcoming game, “Winning and losing is a part of the game. it does not matter if we win or lose. What matters is how you bounce back from defeat. I think we have to work on our finishing. We have to finish every chance we get and I will surely work on that. We should not underestimate Churchill as they are also a good side, but, so are we. If we keep playing the Bardez way than we will surely win.”

Former India Goalkeeper Chandrakant Naik and FC Bardez goalkeeping coach said , ”I cannot predict how tomorrow’s game will go, but we will surely put in all our efforts so that the squad get the victory. Yes we lost the first match, but we have to learn from our loss and do better. The team will bounce back to winning ways as one loss does not define us. There is a lot in store for us. According to me rising up after you have fallen is the greatest victory.”
