FC Bardez & Santa Cruz Club of Cavelossim play out goalless Goa Pro League draw!

fc-bardez-scc-cavelossimNewcomer FC Bardez Goa drew goalless with Santa Cruz Club of Cavelossim in a Goa Professional League match played at the Duler Stadium in Mapusa earlier today.

Both teams played fantastic football. SCC Cavelossim dominated the first 10 minutes of the game with two shots on goal, but later FC Bardez took control of the match. Alesh Sawant had two of the best chances to finish the game off, but was denied but Agnelo Gomes

At the start of the game Joshuah Vaz had a lovely shot on goal but it was saved by the keeper. In the 13th minute Peter Carvalho crossed in the ball from the right flank, Koko Sakibo got to it but he couldn’t direct the header into the goal. Just two minutes later Peter tried a long powerful shot on goal which went over the crossbar.

The 29th minute saw a shot from Alesh Sawant which was saved by Agnelo Gomes.

Into the second half and on the hour mark Suraj Hadkonkar passed the ball to Aaren D’Silva who in turn shot straight at the goalkeeper. Then in the 72nd minute Saviour Gama made a wonderful run and passed the ball to Girish Naik on the right flank, Girish crossed the ball into Alesh Sawant who in turn tried a back heel but failed as Agnelo Gomes saved it from going in.

In injury time Richard Costa gave an overhead pass to Alesh Sawant who controlled the ball with his head and tried to head it over the keeper, but somehow Agnelo Gomes got to the ball and pulled off a magnificent save.

The last action of the game saw Alesh Sawant cross the ball from the left flank to Myron Mendes, all Myron had to do was tap it inside the goal, but he failed to do so.

FC Bardez head coach Armando Colaco said, “it was a good game. We can’t afford to miss chances like these. Everyone saw how many chances we missed. But, it’s football anything can happen.”
