FC Goa dedicates their official away jersey for the 2023-24 season to the Club’s sister concern the Forca Goa Foundation, who have been successfully bridging the gaps in India’s grassroots football structure through their various football programmes.
The FC Goa away jersey for the 2023-24 season features a clean and elegant white base colour, representing purity, unity, and the team’s strong bond with their community. Adding a touch of vibrancy, a captivating pattern is created using the logo elements of the Forca Goa Foundation.
The pattern, consisting of yellow circles, red triangles, and blue pentagons as seen in the Foundation’s logo, are meticulously arranged to form a visually stunning design that embodies the team’s spirit and purpose.
Forca Goa Foundation making a difference in Indian football
FC Goa, along with their community wing, the Forca Goa Foundation, launched the Little Gaurs League (LGL) in 2018 for children in Goa to provide opportunities for children to play regularly in a safe and organised environment. Over the years. The LGL has grown to become one of India’s biggest baby leagues.
In its recently completed fourth season, the LGL saw over 1000 children participating (including over 200 girl participants) in the U-6, U-8, U-10, U-12 and U-13 categories in a three-month long tournament which spanned over 3 months.
Additionally, in February, the Foundation also launched the ‘Fields of Dreams’ project, aiming at creating spaces where the local community can truly be uplifted and have access to opportunities previously unavailable to them, by facilitating state-of-the-art football grounds all across Goa for the use of the public.
The revamped football grounds are equipped with high-quality playing surfaces with a sand base, efficient drainage and sprinkling systems, and other necessary infrastructure.
In due recognition of FC Goa’s and the Foundation’s efforts, the Club was awarded the Hero ISL Grassroots award at the end of the 2022-23 season.
