Following FC Goa’s return from the Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro after a successful pre-season outing, the first training session in Goa was held at the Nagoa Village Panchayat ground in Nagoa yesterday. The players were put through light training exercises by the various coaches under the watchful eyes of head coach Zico.
FC Goa will play two more friendly games in Goa, first against Pune-based, DSK Shivajians FC on September 29, 2016 at the training facility. On the following day, September 30, another pre-season friendly has been scheduled against the India Under-19 national squad in preparation for a competitive season of football in the Indian Super League.
FC Goa will kick off their campaign against NorthEast United FC at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium in Guwahati on October 4, 2016. The first home match at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Fatorda will be held on October 8, 2016 when the home side lock horns with the Antonio Lopez Habas coached FC Pune City in what promises to be an exhilarating contest.
