FC Goa soar to new heights with record-setting ISL start!

In what can be described as a refreshing spectacle, FC Goa have embarked on its best-ever start to an Indian Super League (ISL) season, captivating fans and pundits alike with a sound display of skill and determination.

As the Gaurs gear up for their next clash against Jamshedpur FC on Monday at the Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Fatorda, we take a closer look at their phenomenal journey so far in the ongoing 2023-24 campaign.

Encouraging form across competitions

Since the commencement of the season with the Durand Cup in August, FC Goa have been a force to be reckoned with, showcasing stellar form. With 7 wins, 2 draws and just a solitary defeat in 10 matches so far, the Gaurs boast an impressive 70% win percentage.

This, in turn, has set the stage for a season that could potentially be noteworthy for the former ISL League Shield and Super Cup Champions.

It gets even better when their ongoing 2023-24 campaign in the ISL is taken into account all on its own. The Men in Orange currently find themselves on an enviable 5-game unbeaten run, and are well on the way to cementing their status as one of the powerhouses in the league.

Their last loss dates back to the semi-final of the Durand Cup 2023, making them one of the only two sides that remain undefeated since the start of the ISL season.

Table-topping dominance: leading from the front

As of now, FC Goa sit comfortably at the summit of the ISL points table, amassing an impressive 13 points from just 5 matches.

While the attacking prowess of the team is evident with them ranking 3rd in goals scored (9), it is their defence that has really stood out so far this season. Manolo Marquez’s boys have conceded the fewest goals so far (3) in ISL 2023-24 and lead the charts in clean-sheets (3) and goal difference (6).

A symphony of goal contributors

One of the standout features of FC Goa’s campaign this time, is the diversity in goal-scoring contributors. With a total of 25 goals across 10 games, distributed among 11 different scorers, the Gaurs are proving to be a nightmare for opposition defences.

In the ISL alone, they have notched up 9 goals in 5 games, with 8 different players finding the back of the net.

Top Scorers for FC Goa so far this season:
● Noah Sadaoui: 8 goals
● Carlos Martinez: 4 goals
● Rowllin Borges: 3 goals
● Victor Rodriguez: 3 goals

As the Men in Orange now prepare for a crucial clash against Jamshedpur FC at home on Monday, the enthusiasm among fans is palpable. The team’s scintillating form and attacking flair make a compelling case for supporters to flood the Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium and rally behind their beloved Gaurs.
