FIFA World Rankings: India gain a spot to be a record 100th, Brazil remain top!

FIFA - Coca Cola Mens World RankingEarlier in the day, the latest FIFA ‘Coca Cola’ Men’s World Ranking were released by the world football governing body and in the May rankings, India gained a spot be in 100th position along with Nicaragua, Lithuania, and Estonia behind Zambia and St.Kitts & Nevis, but ahead of Kazakhstan. It is India’s highest rankings since 1996!

India have 331 points, the same points as last month and they remain in 11th position of the Asian (AFC) rankings.

India’s next international matches are in June 2017, when they face Lebanon in a friendly and Kyrgyzstan in the 2019 AFC Asian Cup – Round 3 qualifiers with both matches at home.

In South Asia, India remain in top spot ahead of Maldives (152nd), Afghanistan (154th), Bhutan (164th), Nepal (173rd), Bangladesh (193rd), Sri Lanka (197th) and Pakistan (201st).

There were no changes in the top 5. Brazil stay in top position with 1,672 points, ahead of Argentina (1,603 pts), FIFA World Cup winners Germany (1,464 pts), Copa America winners Chile (1,411 pts) and Colombia (1,348 pts), who complete the top five.
