FIFA World Rankings: India move up to 96th, Germany regain top spot!

FIFA - Coca Cola Mens World RankingEarlier in the day, the latest FIFA ‘Coca Cola’ Men’s World Ranking were released by the world football governing body and in the July rankings, India gained four places to be in 96th position behind Cyprus, but ahead of Mozambique.

India have 341 points, 10 points more than last month and they drop a spot into 12nd position of the Asian (AFC) rankings.

India’s next international matches are later in the second half of the year with friendlies and further 2019 AFC Asian Cup – Round 3 qualifier matches.

In South Asia, India remain in top spot ahead of Maldives (142nd), Afghanistan (155th), Bhutan (164th), Nepal (170th), Bangladesh (190th), Sri Lanka (197th) and Pakistan (200th).

Due to the FIFA Confederations Cup, qualifiers and friendlies there was a major shake-up in the top 5. FIFA World Cup winners and new FIFA Confederations Cup champions Germany (1,609 pts) are back in the top position followed by South American rivals Brazil (1,603 points) and Argentina (1,413 pts), while Portugal (1,332 points) and Switzerland (1,329 points) both gain four spots and complete the top five.
