Earlier in the day, the latest FIFA ‘Coca Cola’ Men’s World Ranking were released by the world football governing body and in it India stay in 137th position behind Madagascar and ahead of El Salvador.
India have 217 points, 13 less than last month and they also stay in 22nd position in the Asian (AFC) rankings.
At the moment India has no matches lined-up for the next few months though the AIFF is looking to play an international friendly before the start of the I-League, but that is still unconfirmed.
In South Asia, India remain in top spot ahead of Afghanistan (147th), Maldives (154th), Bhutan (176th), Nepal (181st), Bangladesh (183rd), Sri Lanka (195th) and Pakistan (197th).
There were some changes in the top 5. Argentina stay in top position with 1,621 points, but Brazil (1,544 pts) climbed a spot to be second ahead of FIFA World Cup winners Germany (1,433 pts), who lost a spot, while Chile (1,404 pts) gained two positions to be now fourth and Belgium (1,382 pts) dropped a place to be fifth in the world rankings.
