The AIFF Under-19 Colts registered their first win of the Independence Day Tournament 2016 on Sunday, August 6 as they defeated Chhinga Veng FC 3-1 in Aizawl, Mizoram.
The Colts took the lead in the 33rd minute when Minga’s shot earned an uncanny save by the opposition custodian, only to be tapped in by Abhishek Haldar to give the Colts the lead.
Ten minutes later, the Colts doubled their advantage and went into the tunnel at half-time leading 2-0, as Lalnuntluanga’s cross was met by a first time shot by Minga from outside of the box which ended in the far right corner of the goal.
Although the Colts conceded a goal in the 57th minute, their spirits were seldom deterred and Kishan blasted the ball into the back of the net following a Ragav free-kick to make the full time scoreline read 3-1.
