The Council Meeting of Football Association of Odisha was held today, March 14 at the Odisha Olympic Association. The meeting was presided by the FAO president Debashish Samantaray.
At the outset of this meeting a two-minute silence was observed as a mark of respect to the departed souls who were of the Football Fraternity.
The Meeting was conducted as per agenda. The Proceedings of the last council meeting, the secretary’s report, the treasurers report and the audited statement FY 2019-20, the budget FY 2020-21 was also confirmed unanimously along with the FAO Annual Calendar.
Asirbad Behera in his address informed the members that the Sports & Y S Deptt of Govt of Odisha is very keen to develop football in our state and they have also come up with proposals like Underage District Leagues both in men & women to be conducted in districts and also will be developing infrastructure at District Level. The Sports & Y S Deptt of Govt of Odisha has already had three rounds of discussions with Football Association of Odisha.
Asirbad Behera (Secretary, FAO) also informed that this the Football Association of Odisha and Sports & Y S Deptt of Govt of Odisha are going to conduct the prestigious Kalinga Cup this year and many ISL & I-League Football Teams along with some best Football Teams of our state are going to participate in this prestigious Football Tournament. President Debashish Samantaray and Asirbad Behera (Secretary) have expressed their sincere gratitude to chief minister Naveen Patnaik, Tusharkanti Behera (Minister of sports and Y.S Deptt. Of Govt. of Odisha), Shri Vishal Kumar Dev I.A.S (Principal Secretary Sports & Y.S Deptt, Govt of Odisha), R. Vineel Krishna I.A.S (Special Secretary, CMO) for their kind support and patronage, they had extended in the recent past for the development of football in our state.
He also informed that the Football Association of Odisha along with Sports & Y.S Deptt, Govt of Odisha has undertaken a series steps like Coach Education & Referee Development Program and will continue to do so in future also.
Bijay Das (Vice-President), Dillip Kumar Sahoo (Vice-President), Pradeep Kumar Das (Vice-President), Pradeep Kumar Mohanty (Vice-President), Basanta Kumar Panigrahi (Vice-President), Hrudaya Ranjan Behera (Vice-President), Bhakta Ballav Das (Treasurer), Avijit Paul (Joint Secretary), Biswa Ranjan Gharei (Joint Secretary), Md Shahid Jabbar (Joint Secretary), Sangeeta Sharma (Joint Secretary) were also present along with many Affiliated Members of Football Association of Odisha.
