Former Mumbai City FC winger Everton Santos returns to ISL to join ATK!

Former Indian Super League champions ATK have announced the signing of Brazilian winger and striker Everton Santos for the 2018/19 season.

31 year old São José dos Campos-born Everton Leandro dos Santos Pinto, known in short as Everton Santos, started his youth football with his home town club São José Esporte Clube.

As a professional he became a journeyman with ATK being his 18th club in the last 13 seasons.

Everton Santos started off in 2005 at Santo André before being loaned out to São Bernardo. In 2007 he joined Bragantino, but quickyly moved on to Brazilian giants Corinthians. After good performances he switched to French Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain, but never made it at PSG with loan spells at Fluminense, Albirex Niigata, Goiás, Ponte Preta, and Seongnam Ilhwa. After a good loan spell in South Korea, he signed for Seongnam Ilhwa in 2012 but after a second season returned to Ponte Preta, but again was send out on loan to Figueirense.

In 2014 he returned to South Korea to join K-League side FC Seoul and after a good campaign he switched to Ulsan Hyundai. In 2016 he returned to Figueirense and played the first part of 2017 at Santa Cruz FC, then he had his first stint in India with Mumbai City FC where he played all 18 league matches and scoring seven goals in the progress.

After ISL-4, Everton Santos returned to Brazil to sign and play for Botafogo FC.

ATK head coach Steve Coppell said in a statement, “We have built a strong attacking team and Santos further strengthens our attack. He is not only a valuable centre-forward but he is equally brilliant as a winger on both flanks. His versatility adds more depth to this team.”

“I enjoy playing in the ISL and this is all the more special because I am joining a team that has been crowned champions twice. I hope to contribute significantly and bring the Cup home,” added Everton Santos.
