Four CONCACAF participants to learn opponents in FIFA Futsal World Cup draw!

The draw for the FIFA Futsal World Cup Uzbekistan 2024, which will determine the competition’s six groups and the path to the world title for four CONCACAF nations, will be conducted on Sunday, May 26, 2am ET, in Samarkand, Uzbekistan.

Costa Rica, Cuba, Guatemala and Panama will represent the region as the semifinalists of the recently contested 2024 CONCACAF Futsal Championship. Tournament champions Panama will make a fourth appearance while the other three nations will participate in their sixth FIFA Futsal World Cup.

All four will aspire to become the first CONCACAF nation become world champion. Costa Rica and Panama have gotten as far as the Round of 16 while Cuba and Guatemala will look to make its first trip out of the group stage.

A total of 24 countries will assemble in Uzbekistan from September 14 to October 6 for the tenth edition of the FIFA Futsal World Cup™ in three host cities in Uzbekistan: Andijan, Bukhara and Tashkent.

Sunday’s draw will place the participants into six groups of four based on the first FIFA Futsal Men’s World Ranking published earlier this month. Costa Rica (31st), the highest-positioned nation from CONCACAF will be selected from Pot 3 with Guatemala (44th), Panama (47th) and Cuba (78th) in Pot 4.

The seeds for all 24 nations are as follows:

Pot 1: Uzbekistan, Brazil, Portugal, Spain, Iran, Argentina
Pot 2: Morocco, Kazakhstan, Thailand, France, Ukraine, Paraguay
Pot 3: Croatia, New Zealand, Venezuela, Afghanistan, Costa Rica, Tajikistan
Pot 4: Netherlands, Guatemala, Panama, Angola, Libya, Cuba

The draw will determine the group stage pairings. The top two teams in each group, and the four best third-placed teams, will reach the knockout phase – featuring a round of 16, quarterfinals, semifinals, a third-place play-off and final.
