Germany name squad for upcoming UEFA Nations League ties!

With one newcomer and three returnees in the squad compared to the June internationals, Germany returns for their final two group games in the UEFA Nations League against Hungary and England.

Germany head coach Hansi Flick has called-up 20-year-old defender Armel Bella Kotchap of Southampton FC for the first time. In addition, goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen of FC Barcelona returns, who had paused in June in consultation with national coach Flick and had not been nominated for the four UEFA Nations League matches then, while Matthias Ginter from SC Freiburg and Robin Gosens from Inter Milan are back in the 24-man squad.

The DFB team will take on Hungary in Leipzig on September 23 (from 8.45pm, live on ZDF). The final group match of the UEFA Nations League will take place against England at London’s Wembley Stadium on September 26 (from 8.45pm, live on RTL).

Germany is currently second in Group 3 of the UEFA Nations League with six points, one point behind Hungary. The four group winners will play for the title of the UEFA Nations League in a final round in June 2023.
