Goa Pro League: Sporting Goa face Vasco SC with an eye on the top spot!

After a fantastic performance against Santa Cruz Club of Cavelossim, Sporting Clube de Goa will look to continue their fine run in the Goa Pro League when they take on Vasco SC in an away fixture on Friday, October 14 at the Duler Stadium in Mapusa. Sporting Goa are currently in fourth position with 11 points from five matches while Vasco SC are sixth with nine points from six matches.

Speaking to the media Sporting Goa head coach Mateus Costa said, “We did well in the previous match but that’s history now, it’s a new day and a new challenge. We will play to our strengths and try to come out with maximum points.”

When asked how the squad is gelling up Costa said, “The players are looking in good shape, they are doing well in the training session and there is good understanding within the team which is important as the season progresses.”

When asked how he would evaluate the start of the season Gaffer mentioned, “It’s a constant process, in every game there is a chance to improve something. We look at both the positives and negatives from the previous games and work on improving both the things in the upcoming matches.”

Speaking about the opponents Costa said, “Vasco have a promising set of players, they have a good balance between the young and experienced players and on a given day they can do exceptionally well. We can expect a good match on our hands.”

Speaking about the latest addition Francis Dadzie Gaffer said, “He has made an instant impact; he has to work on maintaining the good form going further,” and Costa further mentioned, “Dadzie has synced in well with the squad and his involvement levels are high also most importantly he is a good team player, that makes a good addition to our squad.”
